RIBA drops Lubetkin Prize

The RIBA has announced that its International Awards are changing, with the development of a new International Prize, as a successor to the RIBA Lubetkin Prize, and that there will be no RIBA International Awards or Lubetkin Prize awarded in 2014.

The RIBA writes:
On Monday 9 December RIBA Chartered Architects and RIBA International Fellows are invited to enter their UK and EU projects for RIBA regional, National and EU Awards.

Eligibility for RIBA awards remains the same as in previous years for RIBA regional, National and EU Awards, and the RIBA Stirling Prize.

However, the RIBA’s International Awards are changing, with the development of a new International Prize, a successor to the RIBA Lubetkin Prize. Practices will be invited to enter projects for the new international award, in 2015. There will be no RIBA International Awards or Lubetkin Prize awarded in 2014.

The RIBA regional awards will be presented at events up and down the country in April and May; the RIBA National and EU Awards will be announced in June.

RIBA Regional and National Awards are for buildings in the UK or EU by RIBA Chartered Architects and RIBA International Fellows. Winners of RIBA National Awards and EU Awards are considered for the 2014 RIBA Stirling Prize.

Buildings must be completed and occupied between the dates of 1 January 2012 and 7 February 2014.  The closing date for entries is 7 February 2014.
